493,786. Valves. WHITTLE, A. April 16, 1937, No. 10881. [Class 7 (vi)] A valve for internal-combustion or other engines or pumps comprises a ported barrel 1 rotated within a fixed ported sleeve 10, to bring a cylinder port 9 into communication with inlet and exhaust ports 6, 7 in the valve housing 8, spring-pressed packing-strips 15 being arranged between the ports. Packing- rings are also provided between the barrel and sleeve beyond the ends of the ports.
