493,260. Frequency - changing transformers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 4, 1938, No. 6850. Convention date, April 29, 1937. [Class 38 (ii)] In a frequency-changing transformer of the saturable-core type, the saturable material is applied around a conductor which forms a short-circuited secondary winding linking a laminated core 5 carrying a primary winding 6. The secondary may comprise one or more turns, and the saturable material which may be that disclosed in Specification 274,136, [Class 82 (i)], may be applied thereto in the form of a spirally wound tape 9 extending over the whole or a part of the length of the conductor. Specification 477,875 also is referred to.
