Abstract

491,347. Separating solid materials. McCONNEL, HINDS, Ltd., HINDS, G. A., and McCONNEL, F. W. July 15, 1937, No. 19609. [Class 117] Hops with the leaves and stalks are fed from a conveyer to a transversely in. clined endless band to which the leaves and stalks adhere and are conveyed to one end, while the hops roll down and leave the band at its lower edge, the inclination of the band being adjusted by altering the position of pivotally supported shafts carrying the rollers or other members over which the band passes. In the form shown, the band a passes over rollers b and the hops roll to the lower edge of the band as shown. To permit the inclination of the band to be varied, one end of the spindle of each roller is pivoted at e and the other supported by an adjustable chain h. Specifications 7225 /14 and 284,546, [both in Class 117], are referred to.
