[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group V] A machine for rolling rubber coagulum or other material in a plastic state has a conveyer, for supporting the material during its passage from one set 1 of rollers to another set 2, which comprises two plates 3, 4 pivoted respectively at 5, 9, and having the free end of the plate 3 resting on the free end of plate 4. The weight of both plates is counterbalanced by a mass 13 adjustable on a bell-crank 14 pivoted at 15,. the other end of the crank being forked and hingedly connected by a rod 16 to the plate 4. Both plates 3, 4 are provided with discs or rolls 16a. The plate 4 is disposed at approximately a right-angle to the lower roller 2, with a small gap, thus ensuring that the sheet of coagulum enters the nip of the rollers without a curled edge. Should the speed of the pulling rollers 2 exceed that of the feeding rollers 1, the greater tension on the sheet of coagulum forces the plates 3. 4 down till finally they assume the approximately horizontal position shown in dotted lines. A pivotally mounted wiper 17 may be provided to prevent the coagulum being carried past the conveyer around the lower roller 1.
