677,331. Feeding paper &c. through calender rolls &c. BIRSE, J., and PEMBERTONS (GATESHEAD), Ltd. March 20, 1950 [April 20, 1949], No. 10423/49. Class 96. A web of paper &c. 16 is fed through a calender stack 1 ... 5 with the aid of a moving belt 12 near the intake of each nip, each belt 12 passing over a pair of pulleys 9, 10, one (9) of which is driven from the calender roll. The pulleys 9, 10 are on brackets 7, 8 on rods 6 so that they may be swung away from the calender rolls, whereupon a stop 15 prevents a jockey roll 13 on arms 14 on the first bracket 7, 8 from falling too low.
