Abstract

784,790. Sheet-delivery apparatus. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Oct. 26, 1954 [Nov. 5, 1953], No. 30852/54. Class 100(1) Apparatus for inverting sheets comprises a main conveyer 12 supported on rollers 14 and an inverting conveyer 16 adapted to direct the sheets 43 against a fixed stop 22 to reverse their directions of motion and direct them back on the conveyer 12 in an inverted condition. Co-operating with the conveyer 16 are pressure rollers 18, 20 to prevent slippage of the sheets during their direction upwards by the conveyer 16 to the stop 22. When the leading edge of a sheet reaches the stop 22 the trailing edge rides over a roller 26 on which the conveyer 16 is mounted and the sheet is subsequently re-delivered to the conveyer 12 with its initially trailing edge now leading. A photo-electric counting mechanism 40, 42 is provided adjacent the apex 38 of the stop 22. Instead of the pressure rollers 18, 20, the sheets may be guided to the fixed stop 22 by co-operating sets of endless bands (Figs. 2 and 3 not shown).
