775,836. Sheet-delivery apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG AKT.-GES. Oct. 5, 1955 [Nov. 20, 1954], No. 28403/55. Class 100(1) A device for stacking sheets issuing, from a printing machine incorporates a removable delivery table 1 and a slatted table 5 for receiving sheets which accumulate while the delivery table is being replaced. The table 5 when in inoperative position is rolled up ori a shaft 6 at the rear of the stack and when in operative position is located between the top of the pile and the lower edge of lateral sheet register device 3. Movement to the operative position is effected through the medium of spring means upon the release of a locking pawl and during the delivery of two successive sheets, the spring means being associated with rollers 8 around which run belts 7 connected to the table 5. The side edges of the table move in guidways 9. Catches 11, 12 ensure correct deposition of the sheets while the main pile is lowered the catches being restored to their normal position by moving the table 5 into operative position. The catch 12, however is adapted to run in grooves in the table 5 so to as to strip the sheets off the table 5 when it is wound back on to the shaft 6.
