Abstract
457,032. Rolling dough &c. WRIGHT, H. F., 153, Mill Road, Kettering. Feb. 18, 1935, No. 5140. [Class 87 (ii)] A machine for rolling dough or other plastic material comprises two sets of rollers 19, 20 and 19<a>, 20<a> arranged at right angles to each other and is provided with a driven delivery or takeoff roller 40 which receives the sheet from the first set 19, 20 and inverts it on to a travelling table which is arranged at right angles to the roller 40 and convevs the sheet to the second set 19<a>, 20<a>. The peripheral speed of the delivery roller is preferably higher that that of the first set of rollers and it may be adjustable. The travelling table may comprise a series of rollers driven by an endless belt 16<a>. A similar series of rollers 18 is provided to feed material to the rollers 19, 20. A spring 33 normally holds the rollers 19, 20 apart but they can be adjusted together by a hand lever 38 moving over a quadrant 39 and operating cams 34 bearing on extensions 37 of bearing arms 30 supporting the roller 20. The rollers and roller table belts are driven by gearing from a main shaft 6. A delivery roller 40<a> may be provided to receive dough from the second set of rollers. The delivery rollers 40, 40<a> are each driven by a friction pinion between two friction discs from gearing connected to the main shaft. The position of the pinion with reference to the centres of the discs is adjusted to vary the speed of the delivery rollers.
