491,068. Speed governors. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R. Dec. 22, 1936, No. 35141. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1935. [Class 57] The regulating rack 6 of a fuel injection pump is adjusted by a diaphragm 5 loaded by a spring 12 and exposed to the pressure existing in the induction pipe 8 between an adjustable throttle 10 and the engine. A spring-loaded stop 16 is fitted and positioned to engage the rack 6 during its movement when the engine is running at full load between the range of maximum and minimum speeds. The spring 13 acts in opposition to the spring 12 so that as the speed decreases extra fuel is admitted in this range. The spring 13 bears on an adjustable abutment 15. The stop 16 may be drawn out of the socket to enable, extra fuel to be delivered at starting. The stop 16 may abut the member 15 at low full load speed. In a further modification an adjustable member may be provided to engage the stop 16. Fig. 13 shows an arrangement wherein instead of the stop, the diaphragm 5 is loaded by two springs 21, 12. The spring 21 is operative during the full load range and then the diaphragm 5 engages the sleeve 21 which is fixed to the plate 19 against which the spring 12 bears.
