412,997. Regulating fuel injection pumps. SOC. GENERALE DES CARBURATEURS ZENITH, 10, Rue Petitot, Geneva, Switzerland. Jan. 7, 1933, No. 638. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1932. [Class 102 (i).] Means for regulating the output of a fuelinjection pump for an internal - combustion engine comprises a handle 1 connected to the regulating rod 13 and engaging a quadrant 5. The stops 25, 26 determine the limits of movement of the handle for normal running, but the handle may be moved past these positions, by operating a detent 17, to either stop the engine or supply additional fuel. In a modification, the stop 35 limits the position of the pedal 29 for idle running and the engagement of the roller 56 with the wedge 60 limits the movement of the pedal to increase the fuel supply. However, the regulating rod 45 and pedal 29 may be moved further in that direction by compressing the spring 53. The wedge 60 is moved by a governor to reduce the fuel supplies at high speeds. The engine is stopped by removing the stop 35. Specification 408,760, [Group XXVI], is referred to.
