Abstract
489,980. Looms with stationary weft supplies. TEFAG TEXTIL-FINANZ AKT.- GES. July 9, 1937, No. 19103. Convention date, Aug. 1, 1936. [Class 142 (ii)] The thread grippers 6, 7 of a weft transfer device 5 and those 3, 4 of a shuttle &c. 1 have a relative movement transverse to the direction of picking so that the jaws 3, 4 can grip the weft 13 behind the transfer jaws 6, 7 and yet the jaws 6, 7 do not pass between the jaws 3, 4. As shown in Fig. 1, the jaws 6, 7 are opened by a lever 11 and the limb of the jaw 6 is thinned at 8 to allow the jaws 3, 4, when opened by the push rod 9, to pass laterally behind the jaws 6, 7. As shown in Fig. 5, the jaws 21, 22 are within the shuttle &c. 16 and the transferred jaws 29, 30 move about a pivot 27 to place the weft 31 between the jaws 21, 22, the shuttle being notched at 35 to centre the weft 31. The spring jaws 29, 30 are opened by a rod 33. As shown in Fig. 10, one jaw part 48 slides transversely through the transfer or recovery device 45 while the jaw 50 is spring mounted, both being operated by a lever 52. The jaw part 48 is thinned at 56 to allow the opened jaws of the shuttle &c. 39 to pass laterally behind the jaws 50, 51.
