[Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] A side-valve engine is converted into an overhead valve engine, by replacing the cylinder head by a head having a hemispherical combustion-chamber and inclined poppet valves 4, 5, which are operated by the same cam shaft 1 through two push rods 2 and rockers 3, 7, 8, an intermediate link 6 being provided for the valve 5.
