Valve-gear.-In a high-speed engine, the ratio of the piston stroke to the cylinder bore is less than ¥. The engine shown in Fig. 2 comprises two rows of inclined cylinders, the pistons of each row being connected to a separate crank-shaft. A single cam-shaft located in the crank casing controls the valves of all the cylinders.
