485,756. Delivering coal &c. from hoppers: KLOSTERMEYER, H. Nov. 24, 1936, No. 32117. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 14, 1937.] [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Groups XII and XXVIII] Apparatus for feeding solid materials, adapted particularly for supplying coal from a hopper 1 to a ring kiln, comprises a feeding element 8 which is reciprocated through a lever 7 by the movements of a diaphragm 3 on which pressure and vacuum, produced by an engine 6, act alternately. The conduit 5 is fitted with a valve 9 which is actuated from the engine 6 in such a manner that, in the intervals between pressure and vacuum, the conduit is opened to the outer atmosphere.
