Abstract

519,107. Sintering-apparatus. HUTTE AKT.- GES., A. T. Dec. 23, 1938, No. 37419. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1937. [Class 82 (i)] In order to render air-tight the connection between the pans and funnels of down-draught sintering-apparatus, surfaces 4, 5 on the pan and funnel are pressed into engagement by means of an adjustably-weighted bell-crank 9 fastened to the funnel, which is itself connected to the suction-pipe by a flexible joint 12. In another form, in which the funnel is rigidly connected to the suction-pipe, the counterweight is connected to a frame 7<1> which is flexibly, but air-tightly, connected to the funnel end which carries the sliding surface 5.
