Abstract
478,749. Pneumatic conveyers. POLYSIUS AKT.-GES., G. Aug. 14, 1936, No. 22408. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1935. [Class 78 (i)] In the withdrawing of pulverulent materials from containers, such as coal dust from a bunker 3 for transfer pneumatically to a furnace, air is forced into the material prior to its withdrawal so as to render it uniform in consistency. In Fig. 1, the impregnating air is admitted beneath a porous plate 11, separate valves 14, 17 being provided for the impregnating and conveying air respectively. The rate of delivery may be controlled by a handoperated valve 6. In another form, in addition to the plate 11, there is provided an annular porous plate above the plate 11, and in another form this additional plate 21 may be inclined as shown in Fig. 4. In this form, the conveying nozzle 15, Fig. 1, may be replaced by an annular nozzle 26. Specification 419,703 is referred to.
