739,043. Dust confining in industrial processes. STRACHAN & HENSHAW, Ltd. Aug. 27, 1951 [Oct. 16, 1950], No. 25197/50. Addition to 623,252, [Group XXX]. Class 8 (2). [Also in Groups X and XXX] Dusty materials are deposited by a grab or skip 6 into shoot 5 closed by counterweighted flap 2 leading to hopper 1 fitted with air valve 9 and discharge valve 4. Shoot 5 may have gates which close upon the grab as the material is discharged by the latter. Alternatively, the shoot may be omitted, and the two valves interconnected so that air valve 9 is opened together with flap 2.
