Abstract

968,177. Pneumatic conveyers. W. HERMANNS. June 20, 1963 [July 11, 1962], No. 24556/63. Heading B8A. A receptacle for pulverized material comprises a container 1 having a discharge opening 3 in its bottom with a flexible non-resilient web 4 secured to the inner edge of the opening and the container walls to which it closely conforms in its relaxed state, and means 6 enabling compressed air to curve the web inwardly away from the walls to eject the material through the opening, the upper part 4 of the web being impervious and the lower part 5 pervious to allow the air to pass through and loosen the material at the opening. In another embodiment, a cylindrical tank has sloping shelves leading to the opening provided with pervious boxes for loosening the material and the web is formed by two longitudinal pieces secured at their ends to inner tank walls.
