Abstract

1,261,126. Pneumatic conveyers. GODFREY ENG. (AUSTRALIA) PTY. Ltd. 1 Oct., 1969 [4 Oct., 1968], No. 48229/69. Heading B8A. Apparatus for discharging aerated particulate material from a container 10 comprises a discharge passage 24 extending from the bottom of the container interior, and a discharge air supply pipe 26 having a reduced end section 26a projecting into the passage 24 within the container and slidable between varying amounts of opening (shown) and a closed position, in which the face of the large section of the pipe 26 abuts the face of the passage 24 and seals the latter to prevent discharge. The sliding of the pipe 26 is controlled by a handle 36. A branch for the air supply pipe delivers air to a pipe 16 opening at circumferentially spaced points into the container side wall beneath an air permeable skirt 23, the air being deflected thereby downwardly towards the discharge area in addition to passing through the skirt to aerate the material.
