Abstract

1,056,998. Pneumatic discharge of bulk transporters. CARMICHAEL & SONS (WORCESTER) Ltd. Nov. 17, 1965 [Nov. 17. 1964], No. 46679/64. Headings B8A and B8E. A cylindrical bulk container of powder and granular material having a domed top and bottom has a central discharge orifice 103 leading to a discharge box having an inlet orifice for compressed gas and discharge orifices at either side of the container and is adapted to be mounted on a standard railway waggon. Segmental perforated plates with interposed stiffening members 16 provided with upstanding portions 161 extend upwardly and outwardly from the orifice 103 to support aerating pads 17 covered by further perforated plates. Compressed air is led into chamber under the perforated plates to aerate the material and cause it to flow to the orifice 103.
