Abstract

625,503. Storage hoppers. McVICKER, I. F. G. Aug. 1, 1947, No. 21044. [Class 20(i)] In a storage bin, for coal &c. in order to reduce the fall of the material and consequent breaking and also to prevent crushing by the weight of the superimposed material, inclined baffles 2 are provided having vertical extensions 4 which form a series of compartments A, B, C &c. at successively lower levels. The baffles are attached to the sides of the bin by flanges 8. Perforated water pipes may be provided on the upper edges of the baffles for fireextinguishing.
