Class 20(1) A silo or the like is built up from stanchions 1 connected by slats 2 formed by plane trapezoidal deformable elements which are curved so that their non-parallel sides become parallel, these sides being fixed to the stanchions. The slats may be so curved that the shorter of the unequal sides 4 remains straight and is mounted towards the bottom, Fig. 1. In a modification, Fig. 4, both unequal sides are curved and the shorter side is mounted towards the top.
