A compartmental, sheet metal silo for storing grain is comprised of rectangular plates 1 secured to one another and to corner columns 2 by bolted flange connections, the columns 2 consisting of superimposed, hollow, frustoconical or pyramidal sections 2 arranged as shown to define therebetween air passageways 5 communicating with the storage compartments. Air is blown by fans into the corner columns to which outlet hoppers are connected. Extensions of the columns 2 support a roof.
