Inside a hopper or silo 1 is supported a grating 50 comprising inclined plates 2, 3, which have opposite inclinations as shown. Two gratings may be used, as shown, and the plates of one grating may run perpendicular to those of the other grating, or the grating may have its plates arranged in circles. The gratings relieve the discharging means from the excessive weight of the body of the material.
