Abstract
768,530. Granaries and silos. REIMBERT. A. April 25, 1955 [Nov. 19, 1954], No. 11901/55. Class 20(1) A silo or the like comprises a frame carrying a plurality of superposed ring elements 1 with their walls inclined inwardly and downwardly with regard to the axis of the container and so arranged that material is retained within the container and. at the same time, aerated. As shown in Fig. 3, the spacing of the rings is such that a line 3 marking the angle of repose of the material (a) and passing through the lower edge 1a of one ring does not pass higher than the upper edge 1b of the adjacent ring, so that the contents do not run out. The rings are mounted on metal or wooden posts 5 and may be secured by welding, riveting or bolting. Otherwise the posts may extend through the rings and be secured thereto by angle-irons, gusset-plates or nuts and bolts. Further ring elements 7, Fig. 6, may be provided. The rings may be curved instead of flat, Fig. 7 (not shown).
