Abstract

1,106,188. Silos. ALDERSLEY ENGINEERS Ltd. 4 June, 1965, No. 23860/65. Heading B8S. A silo is made up from vertical wall panels such as 15, 16, 17 extending between hollow support pillars 19, 20 disposed around the perimeter of the bin, the pillars being constituted by interconnected support elements 21 disposed at the vertical edges of the wall panels. Each panel is made of corrugated sheet metal and provided at each edge with a flanged support element 21 welded thereto. Adjacent panels are bolted and/or welded together to form a horizontal section which is likewise secured to superimposed sections, corner plates 25, spacing plates 29 and attachment plates 34 being provided as necessary for details of which, and scaling, the Specification should be referred to. The hopper 12 is made up from two sections 36 as shown. For various configurations of silos which may be built, Figs. 3-8 (not shown) should be referred to.
