Classes 20(1) and 20(4) A plane or curved metal wall for large receptacles such as silos, reservoirs, tanks- and the like and consisting of a corrugated metal sheet having parallel corrugations either horizontally or vertically, has the corrugations joined together by cross-members of flat or sectional iron fixed trans-. versely to the projecting portions of the corrugations on one or both sides and by tongues arranged transversely of and in the hollows of the corrugations and partially or wholly matching the shape of the hollows, the tongues being fixed therein, as bywelding. As shown in Figs. Z and 4, the sheets s with horizontal corrugations t with cross-members e, which may be triangular as shown, or I, V or flat rectangular section, have either triangular elements b or trapezoidal elements secured in the corrugations t. Bands g at each end may have flanges g1 which may be screwed, bolted or welded together and thus form a post G. As shown in Figs. 7 and 14, the walls 1 have vertical corrugations, which may be of trapezoidal, square cr curved section, the tops of the folds being connected by flat or trough shaped strips 10 or 13 having tongues 12 or 14 to be welded in the, hollow of the corrugations. Similar strips are placed opposite the strips 10 or 13 on the other side of the wall. If the lower tongue 12 or 14 only is used, concrete may be used to fill the space between the strip and the wall. Walls may be welded together as in Fig. 14, where walls 2, 6, 7 and 7, 8, 9 are joined at 4, 5, the containers being completed with a floor sheet and either a similar sheet as cover or a U-section member round the upper edges. The containers may be of varying shapes and intermediate walls between compartments may be simple braces, which may be continuous or discontinuous or may be pierced with holes suitable to permit simultaneous filling or emptying from one compartment to the other.
