Abstract

1369206 Tanks PLASTICS ENG & MARKETING Ltd 9 Sept 1971 [4 Sept 1970 8 Oct 1970 (2) 12 March 1971] 42617/70 47939/70 47954/70 and 6804/71 Heading E1T A tank comprises a wall formed from a row or a plurality of superimposed rows of panels, each of which has a panel portion of circular arc shape in cross-section and provided with flanges extending outwardly of the tank the side flanges being provided with two faces at an angle to one another and the top and bottom flanges being of the same circular arc shape as the panel portion. Adjacent panels have a bolted flange connection or are bolted to wedge-shaped panels disposed therebetween. Each panel may be made of a plastics material, a plastics laminate or a plastics having a stainless steel facing sheet. Again, coated, painted or treated steel, concrete, plywood &c may be employed and the panels may be ribbed or otherwise re-inforced. The bottom of the tank may also consist of curved panels or a membrane fixed to to the, side walls. For numerous minor details concerning overall shapes of tanks, joints, other materials, reinforcements and panel sections the Specification and Drawings (not shown), should be referred to.
