Abstract

The silo wall is made up of panels each made of several sheets of metal (3) joined together. Each sheet has, seen in cross-section, a concave profile with a base (4), a side part (5) and a side part (6) both sloping outwards. One of the edges extending lengthwise from the sloping side (6) has a part (7) bent outwards and sloping in the same way as the opposite edge (8) of sheet (3). The panel is formed by juxtaposing the sheets (3) so that the bent back part (7) covers part (8) of the opposite edge of the next sheet. The undulating profile of each panel gives rigidity to the silo. The sheets can be bolted or welded together at points spaced out (9) on the two edges (7, 8).
