Abstract

1410478 Liquefied gas storage containers PRELOAD TECHNOLOGY Inc 8 Dec 1972 56906/72 Heading F4P In an insulated membrane-type cylindrical vessel for storing a liquefied gas, the membrane tank comprises a base plate 22 connected to a cylindrical wall 20 by a curved junction piece 26 provided with at least one elongate corrugation 52 itself provided with a plurality of transverse corrugations 54. The junction piece 26 may comprise a plurality of panels 50 with corrugated flanges which are joined at their edges to the flange edges of adjacent panels to form the corrugations. The membrane tank is supported by connecting the upper edge of the cylindrical wall by a number of ropes and pulleys to counterweights. The wall 20 is also provided with corrugations extending vertically, which corrugations may be formed by connected flanges on a plurality of panels. These panels may be formed integrally with the panels 50 of the junction piece.
