1314759 Carrying liquefied gases BRIDGESTONE LIQUEFIED GAS CO Ltd 26 Oct 1971 [31 Oct 1970] 49566/71 Heading B7A [Also in Division F4] The outer rigid shell la of a cold liquefied gas storage tank, e.g. the inner hull of a ship is lined internally with load-bearing heat insulation material 2, e.g., polyurethane foam which is itself lined with a first membrane tank 3 within which and in close proximity therewith is a second membrane tank 3a containing the stored liquefied gas, e.g. petroleum gas; the second tank being constructed of thinner plate than the first. Tanks 3, 3a are of nickel-steel or aluminium and the space between them is connected by a pipe 10 to a vacuum pump 9. A gas analyser (not shown) connected to pipe 10 serves to indicate leakage through tank 3a.
