Abstract
914,868. Light transmitting panels. WILSON, B. A. June 1, 1961 [June 1, 1960], No. 19823/61. Addition to 872,410. Class 75 (4). [Also in Groups VIII and X] A light-transmitting ceiling panel comprises upper and lower dimpled sheets 1, 3 of light transmitting plastic united for example by heat sealing, at the bottoms 11 of the dimples to opposite faces of an intermediate sheet 2 of light transmitting plastic, the dimples of the upper sheet 1 being located opposite the dimples of the lower sheet 2, and the side walls 13 and bottoms 11 of the dimples being thinner than the remaining parts of the dimpled sheets. The sheets 1, 3 are of flanged dished form with the dimples formed in the bottom wall 9 of the dished portion, the flanges 4 being united to opposite sides of the margin of the intermediate sheet 2. The flanges 4 may be dispensed with. Holes 12 may be formed through the bottoms of the dimples and the intermediate sheet 2 within the areas where the bottoms of the dimples are united to the intermediate sheet. The sheets may be formed of polyvinylchloride.
