Abstract

1,187,133. Sealing system for facade elements. TDELLEBORGS GUMMIFABRIKS A.B. 27 June, 1967 [18 July, 1966; 24 Jan., 1967], No. 29679/67. Heading E1G. A joint sealing system for an array of rectangular facade elements 11, 12 defining vertical and horizontal joints therebetween, wherein the horizontal joints are sealed with the aid of sealing strips 13 of elastomeric material which are fastened to the facade elements by snap means 20, which extend the entire length of the horizontal joints and are continuous across the vertical joints, and the vertical joints are sealed with the aid of further sealing strips 19 of elastomeric material which are fastened to the facade elements by snap means and have a length at least substantially the same as the height of the facade elements, the further sealing strips extending obliquely to the vertical and being inwardly of the horizontal sealing strip in the overlying horizontal joint and terminating outwardly of the sealing strip in the underlying horizontal joint. Preferably the strips 19 are arranged to overlap as shown. The snap means may additionally be secured by means of glue.
