Abstract

965,112. Pneumatic conveyers; hopper discharge. F. L. SMIDTH & CO. A.S. Jan. 26, 1962 [Jan. 26, 1961], No. 3062/62. Headings B8A and B8S. In a large container 1, Fig. 1, in which granular &c. material is fluidized in channels 3 leading to discharge points 4, surfaces adjacent the channels 3 comprise plates 5 carrying vibrators 5a which assist in loosening the material. The vibrating plates may comprise separate parts 12, 13, Fig. 3, carrying individual vibrators 17. The fluidizing porous pipes 9, 10 or porous screens are supported by the plates and are supplied from a pipeline 11 at the base of the channels 7. Diagonal ribs 16 are provided for rigidity. In modifications the plates 27, Fig. 6, are arranged to the shape of the sloping base 29 of the containers and may carry the vibrators 30 on cross-members 31 or at the ridge joint between adjacent plates. The vibrators may be placed nearer to the discharge ends of the plates (Fig. 11, not shown).
