Porous flexible tubes 4, 13, Fig. 3, arranged over the base 3 of a container 3 for fluidizing pulverized material &c. and maintained in a flattened cross-section by rigid inserts 12, 18, have connectors 9, Fig. 5, of a correspondingly flattened cross-section. The arrangement reduces the regions in which material may be trapped, the transverse tube 13 covering all the connectors 9. Specification 870,008 is referred to.
