Abstract

530,865. Packing granular material &c. FALLER, L. July 4, 1939, No. 19469. [Class 94 (i)] [Also in Group XXX] To transfer material from a container 5 to a vessel 8, the latter is connected to a bellows 7 depending from a table 6. A chamber 1 furnished with a spout 2 and a funnel 3 is fixed to the upper side of the table and connected by a dustproof joint 4 to the container 5. The chamber 8 may be mounted on the platform of a weighing- machine as shown. Fig. 2 shows a construction in which the funnel spout is fitted with a throttle valve 22, the intermediate chamber 9 has two exits 19, 20 leading to the receiving chamber and is fitted internally with a cylinder having holes 13, 14 communicating with the exits. An axially-reciprocating rod 10 carrying stirring- discs 11 agitates the material during its passage. Fig. 5 shows a further modification in which a sliding cut-off valve 25 carries a baffle 28 pivoted to its forward edge at 27. When the slide is withdrawn, the baffle 28 rests against the stop 29.
