[Also in Group XVII] A spout for pouring distilled water into batteries or accumulators comprises a sleeve 1 slidable on to the neck of the water container 10a, an air tube 6 extending through the sleeve from end to end so as to project into the container and an abutment disc 7 adjustable axially along the sleeve. During pouring, air enters the container through the tube 6 until the liquid in the battery 11a closes the tube 6. By adjusting the disc 7 relatively to the sleeve 1 the liquid level attained in the vessel 11a may be predetermined. The tube 6 may be flexible and the sleeve 1 may be of thermo-plastic or thermosetting-plastic. The disc 7 may have a friction grip or be screw threaded on the sleeve 1.
