Abstract

<PICT:0910563/III/1> A moistening device comprises a container 1 at least part of which is compressible and has a tubular discharge orifice formed by a detachable spout 3, and an applicator, which latter may be p moistened by a solvent held in the container 1 on squeezing the compressible part thereof, the spout 3 being provided at its outlet with a circumferential lip in the form of an annular disc inclined at an angle to the axis of the spout 3 and the applicator being formed of a tightly packed bundle 4 of threads or filaments held within the spout 3 and extending the full length thereof such that the solvent cannot flow from the container 1 through the applicator unless or until the compressible part of the container 1 is squeezed. The threads may be made of natural or artificial fibre, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate.
