Abstract
813,659. Packaging machines. ALITE MACHINES Ltd. March 6, 1957. No. 7411/57. Class 94(1). A device for filling receptacles with powder &c. comprises a pipe or hopper and agitating means which enters the receptacle to settle the contents. Receptacles 34 for cosmetic powder are supported on pistons 32 in aperatures 25 in a rotatable plate 24. Powder is supplied by a hopper 8 supported on a plate 6, a surface of which closes the mouths of apertures 25 as they move from beneath the hopper. Agitating arms 11-13 are raised by a spring 9a when a clutch plate 9d is raised by a cable 22, and lowered by a spring 20 to enter the receptacles. The arms are rotated by means 16, 28, 29. When the upper part of an aperture 25 is filled, the plate 24 moves to bring its mouth below a stop, and the piston 32 rises to compress the powder into the receptacle.
