746,079. Dispensing measured quantities of granular material. LAMB, H. Oct. 15, 1954 [Nov. 21, 1953] No. 32333/53. Class 106(5) A container for dispensing granular material, such as tea, sugar, flour, coffee, rice or ground rice, comprises a body 10, a spout 14 communicating with the inside of the container through an aperture 13, and a removable closure 11 for closing the top of the body, whereby with the container upright material may flow through the aperture 13 into the bottom of the spout 14 and upon inversion of the container be discharged by gravity. The closure 11 has slots 18 to form a bayonet connection with lugs 17 and a portion 19 far closing the top of the spout, the closure being angularly displaced to move the portion 19 away from the top of the spout when a measured quantity is to be delivered. The bottom 12 of the body is inclined towards the aperture 13 which may be provided with a slidable closure to enable its height to be adjusted.
