Abstract

413,148. Delivering measured quantities of powdered materials. FLANAGAN, J. A., Kilenagh, Moyvalley, Co. Kildare, Irish Free State. Sept. 26, 1933, No. 26447. [Class 106 (v).] A container adapted to deliver a measured quantity of powder or granular material when inverted comprises a central discharge tube 2 whose bell-shaped lower end extends into a measuring chamber 3 with straight, sloping sides situated in the bottom of the container. The tube is tapered and its lower end rests on stilts 10, i.e. wires or extensions of the tube, whilst its upper end passes through the cover 5 which may be rigidly attached to the tube or rest on a shoulder 11 thereon. A filling funnel 8 and closure caps 12, 13 for the tube and funnel respectively are provided, and the cover may be removable or fixed on or integral with the container, and in the latter case, the bottom is made removable. The container and tube are made of glass &c.
