[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 2, 1932.] [Classes 51 (i), 51 (ii), and 55 (i).] Charging ; ashpits ; blast supply, regulating.-A gas-producer is provided with a probe lever q for regulating the fuel supply as described in Specification 306,907, [Class 51 (ii)], an ash withdrawal device consisting of a stationary scraper J and an adjustable plate G arranged in a rotary ashpan H and means for controlling the supply of steam to the producer automatically consisting of a heat - sensitive member E in the steam and air supply conduit B and beyond the air inlets D adapted to actuate mechanically or electrically a valve F in the steam supply conduit. The heat-sensitive member E preferably consists of an extensible tube filled with hydrocarbon.
