Abstract

682,929. Fuel hoppers. SWENDSEN, D. L. May 11, 1951. [May 15, 1950] No. 11221/51. Class 78 (i). Breeze fuel is fed from a hopper to a furnace by pocketless drum 1 and distributed over the furnace by flaps 13, 14, the fuel being controlled by a scraping plate 6 which is divided into upper and lower parts by hinge 8, the upper part being pivoted at 7 and spring-influenced at 9 and the lower part being spring-influenced at 10. A second spring-influenced scraping plate is provided at 12. The edge 11 of the. scraping plate 6 is bevelled to give uniform feeding.
