485,251. Delivering articles from hoppers. CHALMERS, J. W., FOALE, A. A., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Jan. 13, 1937, No. 17882. Divided out of 471,521. Drawings to Specification. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] In cigarette &c. feeding apparatus of the type in which the articles pass from the outlet of a hopper down spaces provided between partitions, the bulk of the articles are supported in the hopper by a stationary support directed towards the sloping side of the hopper so as to provide an opening through which the articles pass towards the outlet, a movable element being located in the opening adjacent to the end of the support, to engage some of the articles to relieve the pressure on and maintain free flow of the articles which pass through the opening towards the outlet. The apparatus particularly described is the same as that described in Specification 491,521. Specification 485,240 also is referred to.
