834,791. Delivering cigarettes in orderly arrangement. MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. Aug. 23, 1956 [Aug. 24, 1955], No. 24375/55. Class 130. [Also in Group XXX] Vanes 12 on a rotary member 11 push mouthpiece cigarettes C across a stationary flanged-edge table 5 to transfer them from a catcher band 1, on which they are laterally arranged in a row, to a reverselymoving band 8 so that they are turned end for end and their mouthpieces M are on the same side as those of cigarettes C<SP>1</SP> in a row on a further catcher band running parallel to the band 1 or on the band 1 and separated from the first row by a wall 2. Stationary guides 9, 10 lead the transferred cigarettes down to the table 5 and band 8. Each vane 12 may transfer two or more cigarettes. The cigarettes C<SP>1</SP> may be retained on the band 1 by an upwardly curved plate 4 for hand removal or may pass on a further conveyer over the member 11 for automatic collection in trays. The cigarettes C may be collected from the band 8 automatically or by hand.
