485,240. Delivering articles from hoppers. CHALMERS, J. W., FOALE, A. A., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Jan. 13, 1937, No. 13821. Divided out of 471,521. Drawings to Specification. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] Relates to cigarette &c. feeding apparatus of the type in which the articles in a hopper travel transversely to their longitudinal axes towards an outlet the sides of which are at different levels, the articles moving to the outlet from both sides and passing therefrom down spacers between partitions, and comprises an arrangement wherein, to reduce the risk of jamming, some at least of the partitions are movable into and out of the outlet, intersecting a line representing the shortest distance between the sides of the outlet. The apparatus particularly described is the same as that described in Specification 471,521. Specification 485,251 also is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 471,521.
