Abstract

484,802. Fuel injectors. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Nov. 10, 1936, No. 30634. Convention date, Dec. 18, 1935. [Class 7 (iii)] The needle valve b<1> of a fuel injector is loaded by a spring constituted by a metal rod c having its axis transverse to that of the needle valve. The rod-like spring c is located within a housing g, which constitutes a transverse extension of the valve housing a ; it is provided with a conical end c<1> which co-operates with a conical seating g<1> and is secured by a nut h. A pin i on the spring engages a slot i<1> in the casing extension g, to prevent rotation of the spring. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement of fuel injectors in an opposed-piston engine.
