Abstract

447,057. Fuel-injection pumps. COMPAGNIE LILLOISE DE MOTEURS, 85, Rue Marius Aufan, Levallois-Perret, Seine, France. Nov. 7, 1934, No. 31988. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1933. [Class 102 (i)] [See also Group XXVII] The injector and fuel pump of a direct injection engine are disposed coaxially in relatior to a fixed casing 3 into which projects a cylindrical housing x that extends beyond a member 15 by which the assembly is secured together. The mem. ber 15, which is retained in position by a bolt 17, is centred at one end on a ball-ended pivot 14 ; at its other end it engages a shoulder 23 on the barrel of the fuel pump. Located between the barrel and the injector are non-return ball valves 46 and their seatings 36, 37, 38. Fuel admitted through a conduit 12 is conveyed to the pump through the hollow interior of the member 15 which may contain baffles 52. The fuel is delivered by the pump past the non- return valves 46 to an injector 35 containing a fixed needle valve 30. Contact surfaces 43, 44 are provided on the seatings 36, 37, 38 to permit the parts to be readily assembled. The quantity of fuel delivered by the pump is controlled by rotating the pump plunger 50 to bring different lengths of a recess 53, between plane and inclined surfaces 62, 63, opposite ports 51. Specification 446,074 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also includes the subjectmatter contained in Specification 446,074. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
