Abstract

525,630. Fuel-injectors. BOSCH GES., R. Feb. 24, 1939, No. 6125. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1938. [Class 7 (iii)] To prevent angular displacement of the components of a fuel injector, the components are held together by a sleeve having fine teeth which intermesh with fine teeth on one of the components. As shown, the components consist of a nipple 12 screwed into a nozzle cap 4 which contains the guide 1 for the fuel valve 2. The sleeve 18 is provided with fine teeth 20 which can be slid along fine grooves 19 in the nipple until projections 17 on the sleeve enter recesses 16 in the cap 4. The sleeve is retained around the nipple 12 during transit or assembly of the injector by a spring retaining ring 21. A filter 13 is disposed inside the nipple to which the fuel feed pipe 14 is attached. The cap 4 is pressed against a conical seating 9 in the cylinder head by a gland nut 28 which bears against the sleeve and screws into a sleeve 24 screwed into the head. A pin which extends into a groove 10 in the cap 4 prevents angular displacement of the cap in the cylinder head.
