Abstract

484,702. Fire - estinguishers. STIRLING, J. W. Oct. 7, 1936, No. 27215. [Class 47 (ii)] A portable extinguisher comprises a metal drum 1 supported on a base 3 and divided by a partition 6 into large and small chambers 4, 5 interconnected by a passage 12 with a cock 11. The chamber 4 is provided with a valve 7 for charging it with compressed gas, and the chamber 5 has a filling plug 13 for charging it with extinguishing liquid and a discharge pipe 14 connected to a hose pipe 16 with a nozzle 17. In a modification, an angular nozzle is mounted on a long, rigid, discharge pipe secured on the extinguisher by a tubular mast braced by struts.
